Should I start as a sole trader or a company?

It depends on your expected profit, the risks in your business, whether you will bring in partners and where you want the business to go. A sole trader is simple and cheap to run. A company or trust costs more but can offer asset protection and more flexibility in how profit is taxed. We show you the numbers for your situation.

When do I need to register for GST?

Once your turnover reaches the GST registration threshold, or earlier if you choose to. Registering early can make sense when most of your customers are GST-registered businesses. We help you decide and set it up.

Do I need an accountant from the start?
